Renew A License

The Cannabis Control Division issues 10 different license types to business owners across New Mexico. To begin the application process click on a license type below.

Purchasing Cannabis with a credit card

— Important Update —

Renewal Applications shall be submitted no earlier than 60 calendar days before the expiration of the license and no later than 30 days before the expiration of the license through the division’s electronic licensing portal, NM-PLUS. Failure to receive a notice for license renewal from the division does not relieve a licensee of the obligation to renew all licenses as required. In the event a license renewal application is not submitted and approved prior to the license expiration date, the licensee must not sell, transfer, transport, manufacture, test, or distribute any medical or commercial cannabis or cannabis products until the license is renewed. Upon the nonrenewal of a license, the division may initiate disciplinary action pursuant to the Uniform Licensing Act, Section 61-1-1 et seq., NMSA 1978. 

 

Please Note: Amendment applications for changes that would affect the renewal should be submitted before a renewal application. Such amendments include a change of plant count, adding or removing controlling persons, removing a premise, etc. 

 

The CCD encourages all licensees to log in to the online portal and become familiar with the system. Doing so will help you proactively address any technical challenges you may encounter. Additionally, we strongly urge licensees to begin the renewal process as soon as possible to ensure there is ample time to resolve any issues that may arise.

Renewal Applicants: 

1. Visit NM-PLUS to log in. 

2. Click on the Cannabis Businesses Tab. 

3. Click on the drop-down arrow under Action. 

4. Click View. 

5. Scroll to the bottom of the Business Profile page and select the Edit button 

6. Verify your Business Information: 

          a. You will not be able to edit Name of Business, Business Type, State Tax ID, Type of Identifier, or FEIN.

          b. To change these fields, you will need to submit an Amendment Application once your initial business information has been verified by the CCD.

7. Click Save – By saving you are “Submitting” for verification.

8. Once that is complete, you can Add, Renew, or Amend your licenses.
